As the Statewide Director for Retail|Hospitality|Tourism (R·H·T) for the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Workforce Development Division, Joy’s experience in industry and education allows her to work effectively to partner across systems. She leads R·H·T strategy for the 115 colleges in the system, working tirelessly to connect industry with the college to better address business needs and to launch students into careers in the dynamic sectors of Retail, Hospitality and Tourism. Joy brings 28+ years of experience in all facets of Retail, Hospitality and Tourism, including roles as Head of People, Director of Operations, Director of HR & Strategy, Director of Training & Development, Director Of Employee Engagement & Community Relations in multiple companies, from Fortune 500 to local, family-owned companies.
Joy earned her MBA at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from UC Davis. She is also a graduate of the Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy.
